450 Pro Class teammates Jess Pettis and Josiah Natzke continued their dominant run in the 2024 Canadian Triple Crown Series, delivering KTM Canada Red Bull Race Team a 1-2 result at Sand Del Lee, where Kaven Benoit took P2 in the 250 Pro Class and Eve Brodeur swept the WMX East Class.
After Natzke had won the previous two rounds overall, red plate-holder Pettis turned the tables on him this weekend to go 2-1 for his third victory of the year riding the KTM 450 SX-F FACTORY EDITION.
Pettis recovered from a crash in the opening moto to salvage second, which set him up for the round win after taking the checkered flag in Moto 2. He leads the championship by four points over Natzke.
Jess Pettis, KTM Canada Red Bull Race Team 450 Rider: “I’m happy with the day in Sand Del Lee. Moto 1, I had a fall and came back to P2, before in Moto 2, I put in a good charge for the win and ended up P1 overall! Excited to keep it rolling.”
In his first season as part of the KTM Canada Red Bull Race Team, Natzke continued to make an impact in the 450 Pro Class at Sand Del Lee, winning Moto 1 and then backing that result up with second in the final encounter, earning a fourth-consecutive podium in the process.
Josiah Natzke, KTM Canada Red Bull Race Team 450 Rider: “It was a solid points day at Sand Del Lee, with two holeshots and a 1-2 result for second overall. I’m really comfy with the bike right now and I’m excited to put a hard-pack tire on next weekend.”
The 250 Pro Class was another convincing one for Benoit in Ottawa, the KTM Canada Red Bull Race Team veteran recording a 2-2 moto scorecard for second overall. Equipped with the KTM 250 SX-F FACTORY EDITION, Benoit has finished on the podium four times in the five rounds contested during 2024, sitting just two points outside of the series lead.
Kaven Benoit, KTM Canada Red Bull Race Team 250 Rider: “We had a good day in Sand Del Lee, going 2-2 again. I had fun on the track all day, the bike was working great, and I will come back next weekend for another try!”
Another 1-1 result for Brodeur at Sand Del Lee saw her maintain her perfect start to the WMX East series riding the KTM 250 SX-F FACTORY EDITION. The 11-time WMX champion has built an early advantage of 12 points in the standings and is focused on continuing that form into the coming races.
Eve Brodeur, KTM Canada Red Bull Race Team WMX 250 Rider: “It was a great day for me at Round 2 with some solid, winning motos! I’m happy with my riding and I’m ready to keep up the hard work for the last two rounds of our championship in the next few weeks.”
