The MotoGP World Championship returns to the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli for the fourteenth round of the 2024 season. After the San Marino GP held two weeks ago, the Romagna track will also host the Emilia-Romagna GP, kicking off the penultimate triple-header of the year, which will see the Indonesian GP and the Japanese GP scheduled in the following two weeks.

Francesco Bagnaia, second in the first Misano round, arrives at his home track motivated to return to the podium’s top step in what will also be his 100th MotoGP Grand Prix riding the Desmosedici GP. After the last Grand Prix, the Ducati Lenovo Team rider is second in the Championship, just 7 points behind current leader Jorge Martín (Pramac Racing). Enea Bastianini also returns to the Misano World Circuit aiming to be among the frontrunners again, having finished third in the previous GP behind his teammate.

This weekend’s home event could make history for Ducati. On Sunday, the Borgo Panigale-based manufacturer could achieve its 100th MotoGP victory and secure its first chance to clinch a fifth consecutive constructors’ title and its sixth in the premier class.

Francesco Bagnaia (#1, Ducati Lenovo Team) – 2nd (305 points)
“We’re back racing in Misano for the second time this year, but compared to two weeks ago, the conditions will be quite different. The temperatures will be lower, and we’re also coming off a day of testing. My physical condition is better than it was for Misano 1, so we’ll start with an advantage compared to last time. The Emilia-Romagna GP is also the first of a triple-header: from here on, the season will pick up pace, and with the finale approaching, it’s even more important to perform well at this stage of the Championship.”

Enea Bastianini (#23, Ducati Lenovo Team) – 4th (250 points)
“Racing on your home circuit is always something special, and this year, we’re lucky enough to be back for a second time. Compared to the GP two weeks ago, we’ll see lower temperatures this weekend, which will make track conditions slightly different. During the post-race test, we found a solution that allowed me to be fast even with the rear medium tyre, which we were missing in Misano 1 to fight for the win. Let’s see how this weekend goes, but I’m generally feeling positive.”
