BMW Introduces New Line of Motorcycle Jackets

Woodcliff Lake, NJ – July 17, 2012- BMW Motorrad USA has once again partnered with Kushitani, a premier Japanese manufacturer of quality motorcycle racing gear, to create a second generation line of motorsports jackets – The BMW Motorsport 2 and The BMW RR 2.  The two new jackets, designed for sport/sport-touring riders, both feature BMW Motorrad NP shoulder and elbow protectors, offering style, comfort and mobility without compromising safety.

“These high-quality jackets, with their premium product features and functionality, are a great addition to the already extensive array of high quality rider’s apparel offered exclusively by BMW Motorrad dealerships nationwide,” said Claire Maguire, Rider Apparel and Aftersales Manager, BMW Motorrad USA.  “Plus, they are perfect for the summer and early fall riding weather.”

The BMW Motorsport 2 Jacket is a light summer jacket made of a combination of nylon mesh and leather.

Features include:

  • Form-fitted style and pre-curved arms for more aggressive, forward-riding position; longer in rear to cover lower back area
  • 1.3mm leather in the shoulders and forearms with double and triple stitching, for maximum protection in impact zones
  • Heavy-grade abrasion-resistant nylon polyamide mesh for maximum airflow, strength and durability
  • Stretch Kevlar panels under arms and in neck & waist area for ease of movement
  • Neoprene on wrist and inner collar for comfort
  • YKK main zipper
  • Easy to combine with any pants – long connection zipper comes with both sides and can be sewn into any pants
  • BMW Motorrad NP protectors in the shoulders and elbows. Pocket for retrofittable NP back protector in the back
  • Adjustable waist. Belt loop for connecting to belt loop on pants
  • 2 outside pockets and 1 inside pocket
  • BMW Motorsport colors (white/red/blue) with black highlights
  • Rubberized BMW Roundels on both sleeves; small BMW lettering on chest and back
  • BMW Motorrad Motorsport logotype on front of sleeves
  • Kushitani logotype on back of sleeves
  • Sizes  S-XXXL (Men’s)

The BMW RR 2 Jacket is a light summer sport-touring style jacket made of a combination of nylon mesh and leather.

Features include:

  • Cut for sport touring with pre-curved arms and generous fit (looser fit than Motorsports jacket); longer in rear to cover lower back
  • 1.4 to 1.6 mm soft leather in the shoulders and forearms for comfort and light weight
  • Soft perforated leather panels in sides
  • Heavy-grade abrasion-resistant nylon polyamide mesh for maximum airflow, strength and durability
  • Stretch Kevlar panels under arms and in neck area for ease of movement
  • Reflective piping on rear and sleeves for increased visibility
  • YKK main zipper
  • Easy to combine with any pants – long connection zipper comes with both sides and can be sewn into any pants
  • BMW Motorrad NP protectors in the shoulders and elbows. Pocket for retrofittable NP back protector in the back
  • Adjustable waist. Belt loop for connecting to belt loop on pants.

  • “T-shirt” style collar with soft leather trim for comfort
  • Black jacket with white and grey highlights
