Stacey Nesbitt made her CSBK AM Sportbike and Superbike debut at Round 2 of the series at the Autodrome in St-Eustache, QC.

Forensi-Tech racing prepared a bike at short notice for Nesbitt, and a rear suspension change on Friday night and new tires for qualifying made a big difference in the bike’s handling. ʺI have to say thank you to John Ilkiw from Elka Suspension for being on hand to help me out this first weekend,” Nesbitt said after the race. “It made a huge difference having the bike set up correctly.ʺ

It was a learning weekend with the goal of just making steady progress. Nesbitt finished AM Sportbike in 18th position after a last lap excursion across the grass and 15th in AM Superbike, setting her best lap of the weekend.

Hikari Okubo had a rocky start to his race weekend when his race gear bag got lost at the airport. Moto Nation came to the rescue and loaned Hikari boots, gloves and a back protector. He was able to use Stacey’s backup leathers and helmet. Fortunately, his own gear arrived just in time for first practice. It did not impact him and he broke the lap record by 1.3 seconds in the first session. This form continued throughout the weekend, taking pole position and winning both races by healthy margins.

Hiakri really enjoyed his first Canadian racing experience and would like to thank Powersports Canada, Ottawa for providing the Honda CBR250, Moto Nation, Statoni Racing team, Stacey Nesbitt, Kim (Honda Canada) and all the well-wishers in the paddock throughout the weekend.
