At the final rounds of this year's Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship series, held at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Dunlop offered qualifying tires to the top 10 riders for a separate, 15-minute final qualifying session. This was new for many of the competitors, as qualifying tires have not been used in the series for several years. Jeff Williams was one of the riders in the top-10 session, and I was able to get some data from the Accelerated Technologies Honda CBR1000RR that he was riding for the weekend.

Trevor Daley of Mississauga, ON has finalized his plans for the 2014 Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship. Daley, winner of the 2012 Amateur Superbike championship and runner-up in 2013 Sunoco Pro Rookie of the Year voting, will campaign two Suzuki GSX-R1000 motorcycles through the 2014 season. Zaid Saleemi of Z1 Cycle Tech (Toronto) has race prepped both of Daley's mounts.

Westwood Motorcycle Racing Club preps for 2014 season

The Westwood Motorcycle Racing Club (WMRC) starts its season with a doubleheader of competition on May 10-11. The club makes its home at Mission Raceway Park's road course (Mission, BC), which features a nine-turn, 1.3 mile road course and has several classes of racing ranging from vintage to superbikes, all with racers competing against each other in the hopes of clinching the No. 1 plate by the season’s end.

Pro Bike & Sled Series announces 2014 schedule

Racing dates for the upcoming season have been announced for the Pro Modified Racing Association (PMRA), the Quick 32 Sportsman Series, and the Pro Bike & Sled Series (PBSS). The PBSS, presented by Wiseco Performance Products, will enter its fourth year of racing in 2014.

VRRA Vintage Festival Recap

This past weekend, I was lucky enough to be a part of the VRRA Vintage Festival held at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (Mosport) outside of Bowmanville, ON. The weather really could not have been better, with comfortable temperatures, plenty of sunshine and no rain! Vintage bikes were everywhere and the action was great.
