This is the anniversary of the first event staged at Shannonville Motorsport Park by the new sanctioning body RACE, or Roadracing Association Canada East, as the group was then known.

Misano MotoGP ‘Travel Brief’ by Les Kalman https://www.insidemotorcycles.com/misano-motogp-travel-brief-by-les-kalman/ https://www.insidemotorcycles.com/misano-motogp-travel-brief-by-les-kalman/#respond Mon, 11 Sep 2017 18:10:45 +0000 https://dev.insidemotorcycles.com/misano-motogp-travel-brief-by-les-kalman/ I was originally going to write a travel type log, but time, tiredness and jet lag got the best of me. Instead, I thought a travel brief would serve better.

Trevitt’s Blog: What’s a Qualifying Tire Worth? https://www.insidemotorcycles.com/trevitt-s-blog-what-s-a-qualifying-tire-worth/ https://www.insidemotorcycles.com/trevitt-s-blog-what-s-a-qualifying-tire-worth/#respond Tue, 06 Sep 2016 19:23:50 +0000 https://dev.insidemotorcycles.com/trevitt-s-blog-what-s-a-qualifying-tire-worth/ At the final rounds of this year's Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship series, held at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, Dunlop offered qualifying tires to the top 10 riders for a separate, 15-minute final qualifying session. This was new for many of the competitors, as qualifying tires have not been used in the series for several years. Jeff Williams was one of the riders in the top-10 session, and I was able to get some data from the Accelerated Technologies Honda CBR1000RR that he was riding for the weekend.

Dan Kruger’s International Race Blog – Endurance Racing: Giving Up is Not an Option https://www.insidemotorcycles.com/dan-kruger-s-international-race-blog-endurance-racing-giving-up-is-not-an-option/ https://www.insidemotorcycles.com/dan-kruger-s-international-race-blog-endurance-racing-giving-up-is-not-an-option/#respond Tue, 02 Feb 2016 22:19:26 +0000 https://dev.insidemotorcycles.com/dan-kruger-s-international-race-blog-endurance-racing-giving-up-is-not-an-option/ When it comes to endurance racing, you never know what you will have to deal with until the checkered flag is out. I have seen pretty much everything, and what I haven’t seen for myself I have heard about from friends or other teams. You can nearly destroy your superbike, rebuild it, and finish in the top five in a 24-hour endurance race. The secret to success? NEVER GIVE UP!

Dan Kruger’s blog: Recovering from a major crash – what most people don’t see, Part I https://www.insidemotorcycles.com/dan-kruger-s-blog-recovering-from-a-major-crash-what-most-people-don-t-see-part-i/ https://www.insidemotorcycles.com/dan-kruger-s-blog-recovering-from-a-major-crash-what-most-people-don-t-see-part-i/#respond Wed, 21 Oct 2015 18:38:52 +0000 https://dev.insidemotorcycles.com/dan-kruger-s-blog-recovering-from-a-major-crash-what-most-people-don-t-see-part-i/ By now, most people know I had a serious accident at the Suzuka 8-Hour World Endurance Event in Japan back in July. I high-sided my Superbike coming onto the front straightaway, which was targeted to be my fastest lap ever around the Suzuka Circuit. I was pushing hard and still had a heavy fuel load, with tires that were still not fully up to temp. Although I don’t remember any part of the accident, a photo sequence (see later in the story) along with onboard data allowed my team to piece it all together.
