The final 2021 National Canadian Superbike Championship Series will be help at Calabogie Motorsports Park, southwest of Ottawa, ON., on Friday September 17 and Saturday, September 18. Included in the final major event of the 2021 Canadian season is the last Pro 6GP race series event of the inaugural year of that new Championship.
Limited spectator tickets will soon be available on the Calabogie Motorsports Park venue web site.
The COVID19-delayed 2021 CSBK tour opened in July at Calabogie, with CSBK rookie Alex Dumas earning both Superbike Feature class victories in his debut on the Canadian tour with the Liqui Moly/FAST Riding School Suzuki squad. The premier class title decider at Calabogie is shaping up as a fight for the coveted number one plate between Dumas and rivals Ben Young (the 2019 Champ on the Van Dolder’s Home Team BMW) and current number one Jordan Szoke (Canada General Warranty Kawasaki ZX-10R Ninja).
The upcoming Calabogie event will mark the latest on the calendar that the CSBK tour has gone into the fall since 1986. The two Superbike Feature class events will be decisive in determining the outcome of the overall season’s Champion and 2022 number one plate holder.
Usually, there would also be one Liqui Moly Pro Sport Bike middleweight support class event at Calabogie, but instead this category gets two Nationals, making up for a postponed race at the most recent event at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park August 15.
Friday’s Calabogie Schedule will include practice and qualifying, as well as the battle for the Yuasa Batteries Pole Bonus awarded to the top Pro Feature racer in “Q” action – Ben Young has a perfect record in the Yuasa Batteries program so far this season.
However, Friday’s Schedule will be completed by a make-up Liqui Moly Pro Sport Bike round, using the grid set during Qualifying at C.T.M.P. on Friday, August 13. Only racers who entered at “old Mosport” and qualified for the final will be allowed to take part in this unusual, postponed event. Friday afternoon’s event will also award the $ 2,900 purse announced for C.T.M.P., provide by that venue.
Saturday’s final day of Canadian National action in 2021 will include the deciding two Pro Superbike races, as well as the final event in the Liqui Moly Pro Sport Bike series, currently headed by the Turcotte Performance Kawasaki ZX-6R of Calabogie specialist Sebastien Tremblay. There will also be two Super Sonic Road Race School Amateur Lightweight Sport Bike races, as well as the rest of the typical schedule of categories for the Pro 6 GP race series and CSBK.
