@HondaPowersprts •(December 7, 2015)- Honda is very pleased to announce that the VFR1200X will be joining the now complete, 2016 lineup of adventure and adventure-touring motorcycles. Launched in Europe in 2012, the VFR1200X design team, led by Large Project Leader Yosuke Hasegawa, set out to create a machine that gave the rider a sense of challenge and the facility to explore. As a go-anywhere, do-anything tool it has few peers – but its real difference lies in the addictive power and sound produced by its soulful V4 engine, something unique in this class.

Now the pinnacle of Honda’s ‘X’ family, the VFR1200X arrives in Canada hosting a myriad of adventure-touring on board fixtures such as an easily-adjustable windscreen and three levels of S Mode in the optional Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) version. Equipped with a 1,237cc V4 engine, advanced chassis and electronic package – Combined ABS, Traction Control System (TCS) and the option of a DCT gearbox – the VFR1200X has already firmly planted a flag at the high-performance end of the adventure-touring segment in the European market.

“With the growing popularity of the Adventure market, we are thrilled to add this model to our X line-up, we now feel confident we are able to satisfy the needs of most adventure riders out there,” said James Marchand, Assistant Vice President, Motorcycle Division. “Honda has always prided itself on being a company that offers something for everyone-whether a new rider or a highly experienced rider, the 2016 Honda line-up meets the needs of today’s motorcyclist.”

The VFR1200X has received a multitude of updates since first being introduced, including Honda’s Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) which can be turned off), allowing the rider to select three different levels to control engine torque and resultant drive to the rear wheel. The powerful, smooth VFR1200X is all-new to the Canadian market and is available with a standard gearbox or Honda’s revolutionary six-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT); both versions feature HSTC and combined ABS brakes and shaft drive. The 19- and 17-inch wheels offer capable road-going performance, while the inverted 43mm fork and single-sided swingarm incorporate modern suspension technologies.

Other features include a one-hand-adjustable windscreen, hand guards and that all important accessory socket to charge smart phones or power heated vests.

The VFR1200X offers a comfortable ride and is very well suited to spending long days in the saddle either riding solo or two-up. If you are looking for an all new adventure-tourer that offers great looks, comfort and reliability the VFR1200X has all that and more.
