@JCRacing20 • @cdnsuperbike • Keene, ON —August 5, 2015 — Following a difficult weekend at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton two weeks ago, Jodi Christie rebounded to score two podium finishes in Round 5 of the 2015 Mopar Canadian Superbike series at Atlantic Motorsport Park in Shubenacadie, NS. In Hindle Pro Sport Bike action, Jodi finished in second place just .12 seconds behind winner Kenny Riedmann; in the Pro Superbike race, Jodi struggled with handling issues but still managed a podium finish, in third spot.

With rain on Friday morning of the race weekend, there was very little on-track activity; Jodi was the only rider to take part in Pro Sport Bike practice, and sat out Pro Superbike practice along with most of the other riders. In the afternoon sessions, the Honda Canada/Accelerated Technologies team worked on setting the bikes up for the demanding AMP circuit while Jodi steadily got his confidence back after the rough Edmonton weekend to end the day fourth quickest in the Sport Bike class and third quickest in Superbike.

Steady progress over Friday continued on Saturday, with Jodi second quickest in the morning’s Sport Bike practice and missing out on pole position in that class by .3 seconds for second on the grid. In Superbike, Jodi was third quickest in the morning session, and after a very determined effort in qualifying ended up just .040 seconds off the pole time to qualify in second.

In the Hindle Pro Sport Bike race on Sunday, Jodi got the holeshot and led for several laps before being passed by Kenny Riedmann. The two ran nose-to-tail for the remaining laps and Jodi made a bid for the lead on the last corner on the last lap, but was unable to complete the pass and ended up second. In the Mopar Pro Superbike final, Jodi again got the holeshot and led for several laps, but faded as the race progressed to finish in third.

The results leave Jodi second in Pro Sport Bike points just nine points out of the lead, and third in Pro Superbike points, two points behind second place. The next and final rounds are a doubleheader at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park near Bowmanville, ON, on August 14-16.

Jodi Christie: “I had a fun weekend here at AMP, it’s always nice to be back racing on the east coast.  The track had some work done to it over the off season, so I tried my best to sort those sections early in the weekend and get used to the circuit.  The team worked hard to get me comfortable during the weekend, and we managed to get the bikes working great. I rode a solid Sport Bike race and finished second, which I am happy with as it is some good points as we move into our last two rounds.  I took the gamble in Superbike with running the medium tire and didn’t feel as comfortable during the race as I did during practice and qualifying. I tried my best to put some good laps together and finished the race in third. Overall I am happy with the weekend, I finished both races on the podium and am excited for CTMP in two weeks!”
