Yes, it’s back! For the third year in a row, Inside Motorcycles has released its Nostalgia Issue, “Our annual salute to the vintage, classic & retro motorcycle scene.” It’s currently arriving in mailboxes across the country and on newsstands across the country. Read on to find out what’s inside!

As our cover clearly implies, the October issue is a celebration of all things nostalgia. From the sixties-inspired logo to the photo of Lang Hindle at Mosport back in 1978, we wanted to make it clear that this was the issue for those who embrace their love of old bikes and simpler times.

Modern motorcycle manufacturers know that retro styling sells bikes, and two fine examples featured in this issue are the BMW R nineT and the Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight. The R nineT is a celebration of BMW’s 90 years in the motorcycle industry and combines an historical essence, modern technology and an artistic design in a fun-to-ride package. The Forty-Eight, meanwhile, emphasizes raw visuals over functionality, inspired by the 1948 Harley-Davidson S model. Read our impressions of both bikes in the latest issue.

We also profile our cover boy, Lang Hindle, and the pipe dream that became a reality when he started Hindle Exhaust Systems in 1982. How did it become one of the leading performance exhaust businesses in the world? Pick up the latest issue to find out!

Toni Sharpless brings us a personal history of Can-Am Motorcycles, Todd Vallee profiles an ex-Evel Knievel movie bike that now rips up the dirt tracks of Ontario, John Hopkins profiles BC’s old Westwood Raceway Park, and IM-sponsored flat track racer Braden Vallee makes his editorial debut with a recap of Dirt Quake USA, which we’ve termed “The craziest dirt track race you’ve never heard of.” On the touring tip, Editor Graeme Jones brings readers on a trip through eastern Ontario, focusing on the area’s early 19th century heritage.

If nostalgia’s not your thing and the ‘latest and greatest’ is more up your alley, you’ll enjoy our review of the Honda VFR800F, a bike boasting loads of modern tech like traction control, full LED lighting, self-cancelling turn signals and that unique V-TEC (variable valve control) engine. We also tell you how the last half of the Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship went, including how two new Pro champions earned their respective crowns. Plus we’ve got news on all the latest 2015 bike announcements, so we haven’t forgotten the new generation at all.

Check out the Nostalgia Issue (October 2014, Vol. 17, Issue 06) on stands now at Chapters, Indigo, Canadian Tire, Walmart, Loblaws, Shoppers Drug Mart and more or by clicking here to start your free trial subscription!
