Street to Track Blog: Track Days, Part II

To be totally honest, my first track day of 2016 started out as a complete disappointment. I arrived at Castrol Raceway's road course confident and ready to ride, having just successfully completed Justin Knapik's On Track Performance Race School less than 24 hours earlier. In seemingly no time at all, my intermediate group received a five-minute warning, and in the time that it takes to start your bike, put on your helmet and gloves and line up, I was out on the track.

Ethan Barkley claims 16th CMDRA national championship

Ethan Barkley had to remain focused on performing well at the final event of the season if he wanted to take home the CMDRA Pro Street No. 1 plate. Leaving nothing to chance, a complete teardown of his turbocharged Suzuki GSX-R1000 "Eleanor" was completed prior to arriving at Mission Raceway Park for the 2016 CMDRA season finals.

CMDRA Announces Revised 2014 Schedule

The Canadian Motorcycle Drag Racing Association is releasing details of its updated 2014 schedule. The six race series, which includes events in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario, required revision following the unexpected announcement of the suspension of operations at one of the venues included in the original schedule.

Westwood Motorcycle Racing Club preps for 2014 season

The Westwood Motorcycle Racing Club (WMRC) starts its season with a doubleheader of competition on May 10-11. The club makes its home at Mission Raceway Park's road course (Mission, BC), which features a nine-turn, 1.3 mile road course and has several classes of racing ranging from vintage to superbikes, all with racers competing against each other in the hopes of clinching the No. 1 plate by the season’s end.
