In less than two months’ time, over 1000 members of the Harley-Davidson Owners’ Group (H.O.G.) will descend on Kelowna for the 13th Western Regional Rally. Dubbed “Rally in the Valley”, the event takes place from Friday, July 25th to Sunday the 27th, 2013.
Participants are registered from all over Western Canada and the U.S. with some coming from as far away as Germany to take part in the many activities planned over the weekend. The Okanagan chapter of H.O.G.® was selected to host this event, and over 200 local H.O.G.® chapter members are volunteering to create an unforgettable experience for those attending.
“The best part of the rally is the riding,” says Marianne Boettcher, the 13th Western Regional H.O.G.® rally coordinator. “We have planned two guided rides and poker runs daily throughout the scenic north and south Okanagan.” Saturday’s poker run is dedicated to the peace officers of Kelowna, with proceeds going to “Cops for Kids”.
In keeping with H.O.G.®’s emphasis on safe and responsible riding, the local chapter is providing free hotel shuttle bus service to and from the evening events. Profits from “Rally in the Valley” will be donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Okanagan.
Spaces for “Rally in the Valley” are filling up quickly, and H.O.G.® members can register at okanaganhog.com. Harley-Davidson owners who are not members can easily join at Kane’s Harley-Davidson in Kelowna. “Rally in the Valley” will be the largest motorcycle event in BC this year, offering H.O.G.® members the chance to come together for three days of riding, fun and fellowship.
