The MV Agusta Canadian Superbike weekend will mark the series’ return to Calabogie Motorsports after a 6 year hiatus from the venue. The weekend will feature several exciting classes of competition including Pro and Amateur Superbike and 600, as well as a support class of vintage bikes from the VRRA, Canada’s vintage motorcycle racing association.

“MV Agusta Canada is proud to be the title sponsor for the inaugural round of the MOPAR Canadian Superbike Championship at Calabogie Motorsports Park” said Tim Massarelli, MV Agusta Canada’s National Manager. “MV Agusta is looking forward to an exciting season of CSBK racing and a bright future for the sport here in Canada.”

Built in Italy, MV Agusta entered the Canadian market in 2011 via Motovan Corporation, Canada’s leading distributor, exporter and manufacture of motorcycle, ATV, MX and snowmobile parts and accessories. MV Agusta has 11 dealers across Canada showcasing their 16 models including their popular F4 and F3 machines as well as their multiple variations of the Brutale, Turismo, Dragster, Rivale, and Stradale.

MV has a storied history in world level racing, having won 270 Grand Prix motorcycle races, with legendary riders such as Giacomo Agostini, Mike Hailwood, Phil Read, Carlo Ubbiali, Gary Hocking and John Surtees. In recent years, MV can be seen competing across the world at both club and international level competition, most notably in the British Superbike Championship and the FIM Superbike World Championship.

“Calabogie welcomes MV Agusta as the title sponsor of this opening round,” said Jane Blinn, Track Manager of Calabogie Motosports Park. “We are very excited with the return of CSBK to our 2015 schedule; racing Calabogie will be an exciting kick-off to the season.”

The 5.05km (3.05-mile) Calabogie circuit features 20 turns and includes a 609m (2,000ft) straightway. Opened in 2006, the track was designed by world-renowned track designer Alan Wilson.

There will be several trackdays leading up to the event hosted by Pro 6 Cycle Inc., which is the exclusive motorcycle trackday provider at Calabogie Motorsports Park. Pro 6 Cycle is also the Canadian Dunlop race tire distributor and is entering its 2nd year of a 3-year contract with the MOPAR Canadian Superbike Championship as the sole tire supplier for the series.
