The Effenbert Liberty racing team has announced today that they will no longer be supporting their World Superstock 1000 effort, and will focus solely on World Superbike. Fortunately for Effenbert Liberty rider Brett McCormick, he was promoted to the premier class on the Effenbert Liberty squad before the announcment was made to withdraw from the support class.
According to a press release from the Effenbert Liberty Racing Team, “This is our corporate choice, and at this point, it should be interpreted only as a means of focusing all energy of the Effenbert Liberty Racing Team to support our 4 riders in World Superbike Championship, Sylvain Guintoli, Jakub Smrž, Maxime Berger and Brett McCormick, in the best way,” said the Team Owner, Mario Bertuccio. “The engagement of the youngster Federico Sandi is therefore officially brought to an end, however, we are going to give him our support as we strongly believe in his talent.”
Brett and his riding style have obviously made good impressions on the Effenbert Liberty team; enough to see them promote the young Canadian to the premier class. McCormick will be making his World Superbike debut at Imola on March 30 aboard the Effenbert Liberty Ducati 1198.
