From Team Penz13.com – The Penz13.com BMW road racer Dan Kruger (Montreal, QC) was set to take part in this year’s 8 hours of Suzuka FIM Endurance World Championship race for another team but has asked his friends of his road racing squad to spread this press release and update on his conditions after crashing during yesterday’s free practice sessions with the intention to stop rumours.
The Canadian highsided during yesterday’s second free practice session and got injured. This is what he wrote from hospital this morning.
“I had a bad crash and will not be racing in the 8 hours of Suzuka,” said Kruger. “I’ve got a punctured lung, damaged ribs, my right hand, a broken collarbone and some head injuries that are still (being) evaluated at the moment. I am in ICU at the Suzuka hospital. I was unconscious after the crash but I am already recovering. I am not on life support and I am breathing on my own and I am 100 per cent ‘there’ – I am quite certain I will recover fully.”
Team Penz13.com BMW Racing wishes it’s mate Dan all the best and a speedy recovery. We all hope to see you back on the bike at Frohburg later this year in September!
Inside Motorcycles also wished Dan a full, proper recovery.
