It is hard to believe another race season is almost behind us. 2016 is definitely a year for me to forget in terms of racing. It started off strong back in January where I won an endurance race over in China. I was in good form and had a big year planned with both my BMW team on the roads in Europe and my Kawasaki Superbike team in Asia.

For Immediate Release: Montreal's Dan Kruger and his Kawasaki ZX-10R led the his team to another victory this past weekend in the 3 Hour Endurance Championship. On a cold but sunny weekend in China, the annual 3 Hour Superbike Endurance took place at the Zhuhai International Circuit. With 34 riders entered from at least seven countries, it was a good turnout. Temperatures dipped down to seven degrees Celsius, keeping the track slippery, but with the sun shining, the event was a success.

Last week we reported that Canadian Dan Kruger had a vicious highside during practice for the final round of the Pan Delta Championship series in Zhuhai, China that landed him in a Hong Kong hospital with severe injuries and internal bleeding. He then sent Inside Motorcycles this exclusive recap of what he called "the most unbeleivable weekend of my career."

1. Hospital in China for initial diagnosis - pain meds, catheter inserted, X-rays, etc.

2. transported to Hong Kong hospital for further tests. Internal bleeding is the problem, with a fractured pelvis and a ruptured urethra.

3. Bleeding gets worse internally so they put me into surgery right away; two and half hours later, I wake up and things are much improved. They put some plastic parts inside me to reconstruct the damage.

The doubleheader will determine if reigning Superbike Champion Huang Shi-Zhao of Yes Yamaha will keep the crown or hand it over for the first time ever to someone from North America: Canadian Dan Kruger.

I was recently asked to test a Formula Renault open wheel car in China, and I gladly accepted. I have never followed car racing nor had any interest in racing cars. I always thought that driving a race car would be anti-climactic after the thrill of riding Superbikes.

I was lucky enough to be invited to help out at an Arlen Ness dealer event a few years back in China. Greenstar (licensee of the Arlen Ness brand for motorcycle leathers and riding gear) was one of my sponsors at the time. I was really looking forward to the event as Ruben Xaus, who was racing for Castrol Honda in World Superbike at the time, was also helping out. I had grown up following his career and I thought it would be cool to ride with him for a day, especially since we were both the 'Instructors' at this even. To be honest, at the time it would have been more fitting for me to be his student, but hey, I was going to take this opportunity. And if I had to ride over my head a little, then so be it.

Canadian Dan Kruger Wins Endurance Race in China

Canadian superbike racer and Inside Motorcycles blogger Dan Kruger led his team to victory from pole position at the Zhuhai 3-Hour Endurance race in Zhuhai, China January 4-6.

"We finished on top in free practice, took a convincing pole in qualifying by over 2 seconds ahead of 2^nd place, and led 100 of 101 laps of the 3 Hour race," Kruger proudly stated. "We got the holeshot and never looked back, winning the race by over 2 laps over the satellite Kawasaki team and then Yes Yamaha in 3rd. The rules in this event allow for 2 bikes and 2 or 3 riders on the track for 45 minutes at a time maximum.
