As the Canadian Superbike Championships awaits the chance to start its 2021 season – following several pandemic-related delays – it seems like a good time to have a look back through CSBK National Road race history. Our focus is ten years ago, in 2011, when the series was still struggling to deal with the fallout from the financial melt down that started late in 2008. There were far fewer opportunities for Canadian racers ten years ago, certainly when compared to the boom years of the decade previous.

Szoke completes perfect season, wins 11th Superbike crown

@CTMPOfficial • @cdnsuperbike • BOWMANVILLE, Ont. (August 21, 2016) – For the second year in a row, and the third time in his career, Jordan Szoke completed a perfect season in the Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship.

A day after wrapping up his 11th career title and second in a row the 37-year-old from Lynden, Ont. scored his seventh win from seven races this season in the back-end of the traditional season-ending doubleheader at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on Sunday.

Under less than ideal skies, the VRRA gathered for its third event of the summer at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park near Bowmanville, ON on August 22-24. Friday morning's fog lifted enough for practice rounds, but soon morphed into drenching rain, which delayed the start of the afternoon Endurance race. Opinions were offered and debated over tire choices, the possibility of a change in the weather, and who was going to venture back to the paddock to get the rain gear.

Pro Superbike sophomore Daley finalizes 2014 plans

Trevor Daley of Mississauga, ON has finalized his plans for the 2014 Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship. Daley, winner of the 2012 Amateur Superbike championship and runner-up in 2013 Sunoco Pro Rookie of the Year voting, will campaign two Suzuki GSX-R1000 motorcycles through the 2014 season. Zaid Saleemi of Z1 Cycle Tech (Toronto) has race prepped both of Daley's mounts.
