Canadian international Superbike racer Dan Kruger may have missed the Suzuka 8 Hours race held this past weekend in Japan, but he had good reason to be home in Montreal.
“Kaitlyn Renee Kruger was born at around 7pm on July 28th weighing in at 7.7 lbs in Montreal,” Dan announced. “Both mom Holly and Kaitlyn are healthy and resting and will be home tomorrow.”
Kruger, who was scheduled to race the Suzuka 8 Hours for the first time, opted to back out after he realized that the delivery date was on the same day as the race.
“It was a bummer that I missed Suzuka, but my team did pretty good, finishing 17th overall against the bigger budget teams,” said Kruger. “In 2014, we will be aiming for a Top 10 and it will be realistic. We already have a bigger budget committed to that event and we have no plans to add to our family in 2014,” he joked.
“There is no experience like bringing a baby into this world. I wouldn’t have missed this day for anything in the world.. not even Suzuka!”
