CONCORD, Ont. – As the 2013 Canadian Superbike Series winds down, with the season finale just around the corner in picturesque Mont-Tremblant, Que., August 23 -25, the anticipation for this action-packed racing weekend is high. Veteran racers will be looking for redemption and the young guns will be letting it all hang out in their quest for the top spot on the podium.
Before these racers can take it out on the track, however, there is plenty of action that goes on in the race teams’ pits. Crew members work tirelessly on the preparation and setup of these race machines throughout the weekend.
This year, crew members of the Canadian Harley-Davidson® XR1200® Cup Series were eligible to win the Tactical Products Canada Crew Award. Following each round, a team member that was deemed to have overcome extra adversity throughout a race weekend was awarded a genuine Harley-Davidson® pocket knife, provided by Tactical Products Canada in partnership with Ruthless Racing and Deeley Harley-Davidson® Canada.
Thus far, the recipients of the Crew Award have been Bryan Buckley, for his fine work on Michael Taylor’s bike during round one in Shannonville, Ont.; Glen Veatch at Autodrome in St-Eustache, Que., for his hard work during round two to get J.R. MacRae’s bike back together; and for his dedication to rider Steve Crevier in round three at Atlantic Motorsport Park in Shubenacadie, N.S., Dan Thomson went home with the pocket knife.
