Former Honda CBR125, Suzuki SV650 Cup and Amateur Supersport national champion Raphael Archambault will make his 2013 debut at the final round of the Mopar CSBK season in Mont-Tremblant Aug 23rd-25th. After nearly a year away, Raphael has been studying and training to come back stronger than ever.
Joining the team for the first time will be James Collins. Collins has years of racing background both as a former racer and mechanic. Raphael made a real impression in 2012 taking pole position at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (formerly Mosport) in the Pro Sport Bike class. Still on the hunt for his first pro national win, Archambault Racing is confident that 2014 will be their year. Soon to be celebrating his 20th birthday Raphael is in the best conditioning of his life and with the help from Performance Drink he will be faster and more consistent than ever before!
“We are going to Mont-Tremblant to test some new changes to the motorcycle and see how we are able to work with each other. Communication between rider and mechanic is vital for a good set-up, luckily his English is much better than my French! There are a lot of changes to his motorcycle from how it was previously raced. It will take him a while to get used to riding again, let alone all the changes. Assuming the changes all work for the better I expect Raphael will run with the lead group although that is not our goal going in.” said Collins.
When asked about returning to CSBK Raphael excitedly said “I’m really looking forward to work with Collins at Tremblant. I can’t thank him enough for all the effort he has done to help me participate in the final round. He has volunteered his time to rebuild the entire bike after a crash in New Jersey last year. For me it has been good to take a step back this summer and take the time to focus on the right ways to step up my game and help me move forward in my racing career.”
Long-time friend and Amce Slate owner Steve Wright will support the team’s effort going into Tremblant. Also supporting the effort is Inside Motorcycles. David Weber, general manager of Inside Motorcycles, and Collins have bonded through their love for the sport and their experiences with dealing with cancer despite never having yet met face to face.
