Bodhi Edie of Warman, Sask. swept both the Open Superbike and King of the Mountain GTO classes at Miller Motorsport Park in Tooele, Utah June 29-30, the third round of the Utah Sportbike Association’s Master of the Mountains race series.
Clear skies and unrelenting sun greeted competitors at Miller Motorsports Park. Temperatures reached as high as 104 F (40 C), and the action on track was just as hot.
“The Open Superbike race wasn’t that long, only seven laps, but the King of the Mountain GTO was twice as long and it was tough, like a long sand moto when I practice back home,” Edie said. “These guys at the front, Oleg (Pianykh), Pete (DeGraaf) and Jesse (Sherstan) are fast, they all have their strong points, it was fun to be at the front racing with them. It is getting easier for me, I am stronger than I was last year, my racecraft is getting better, and Dad and I are getting better setting up the bike.”
After race wins in both classes and having attended two of the first three rounds, Edie lies fifth and eighth, respectively in the Open Superbike and King of the Mountain GTO classes.
“I am too young to race AMA Superbike so we plan to do the WERA round at Miller, then after that if we can scrape up the money, perhaps the premier tracks, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and Mont Tremblant in Canada,” Edie added.
Edie Racing would like to thank their sponsors, Charles Antle and family, FFunmotorsports, JDS decals, Motovan and Choo-it.
