TORONTO, Ont. – Video coverage of all six rounds of the Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship has been confirmed for the coming season, with races to be shown on the series website www.csbk.ca.
The weekend package will include lights-to-flag action from the Mopar Canadian Superbike feature class, Sunday’s Canadian Harley-Davidson XR1200 Cup Series, and the Saturday race of each weekend’s Honda CBR250R National Race Series doubleheader.
There will also be highlights from the Hindle Pro Sport Bike race at each event, featuring Honda Canada rider and two-time national Pro Sport Bike champion Jodi Christie.
Sponsorship for the project comes from Mopar, Deeley Harley-Davidson Canada and Honda Canada.
Longtime Canadian race announcer Frank Wood will host the shows, while CSBK Series veterans Bruce William Harper, serving as Producer and Director of Photography, and Judah Purcell, Producer and Editor, will head the team at each venue.
“The video component will add another dimension to our series coverage for fans of the Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship,” said Colin Fraser, who will oversee the production. “Making it available on the website will give us the opportunity to make the video available soon after race coverage is complete, and broaden the appeal of www.csbk.ca.”
Last year’s Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship was one of the most exciting title battles in the recent history of the national road race series, with four different riders taking race wins before Jordan Szoke walked off with his eighth national number one plate. Alex Welsh of Uxbridge, Ont. won the season finale on his AW7R Racing Suzuki GSX-R1000.
In the Canadian Harley-Davidson XR1200 Cup Series, Steve Crevier won his second straight class title in 2012 and added to his extensive Canadian racing trophy haul. He will be back in 2013 and will likely face challenges from fellow former Superbike champ Michael Taylor and perennial Harley-Davidson ace Darren James.
Christie won his second straight National Pro Sport Bike Championship last year on his CBR600RR and will be back this year to defend his title. He also has his eye on taking a top spot in the Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship aboard his CBR1000RR.
The Honda Canada spec CBR250R National Series will return this year with some changes. The Honda small cc spec series has routinely provided some of the closest action in Canadian racing and has proven to be a breeding ground for future Canadian race stars.

The 2013 Mopar Canadian Superbike Championship opens at Shannonville Motorsport Park in Shannonville, Ont. June 7-9 and wraps up at Mont-Tremblant, Que.’s Le Circuit Mont-Tremblant August 23-25.
