June 13, 2014- Hunter Bauer, a nine year old flat tracker from Chippawa, is heading to Springfield Illinois to take part in the 2014 AMA Dirt Track Grand Championship.
Starting on June 24th, Bauer will be racing on a short track, half mile and a TT track against the best that the U.S. has to offer. Bauer will be riding both a Cobra 65 and a Honda 85 during a weeklong event that showcases future grand national stars.
At the age of nine, Bauer has already won three Canadian championships and is currently leading the points chase in Flat Track Canada, C.M.A., Paris Speedway and Welland County Speedway in both the 65 and 85 classes. After enjoying some great battles here at home with the likes of Dustin Brown, Boyd Deadman and Jimmy McCollough, Bauer is eager to see how he measures up with the top American riders.
Bauer will be the only Canadian at the event but is grateful for all the support he is getting from racers and fans alike.
“I am pretty excited to race against some new faces that are the best of the best in my classes. I just hope I don’t blow another hole in my steel shoe.”
Bauer is supported by Cox Home Hardware, Hart and Huntington, Lead Mechanical, Bickles Hardware and Supply, Kaupp Electric, Gilsons Auto, Astro Transmission, MR. Pumpkin, Barefoot MX Racing, Uncle Geoff, Mima and Papa, Performance ATV and Steve Somerville Mortgage Intelligence.
