Fifteen year old Braden Vallee of Kitchener, Ontario enjoyed a strong weekend at Thunderfest flat track events in Leamington and Wheatley, July 21-22. After winning all four of his heat races in the novice class, Vallee finished second to Dave Pouliot in his four final races.
Despite not making it to the top of the box, Vallee was happy with his results and the points he gained. “Pouliot and I were within .1 of a second of each other all weekend. I beat him in a couple of the heat races but I just couldn’t get around him in the finals. Our lap times were on par with the winner in the intermediate class so I’m pretty happy with that. As always, riding the ‘cushion’ at these two tracks was a blast and I think it was a pretty good show for the fans to watch.”
With six races left on the schedule, the runner-up points picked up by Vallee were of great value. He has once again taken over the C.M.A. points lead in the novice 600 division and stretches out his lead in the 450 division.
