Winners of the 10th annual Inside Track Readers’ Choice Awards were announced at the Canadian Motorsports Expo this past weekend in Toronto, Ontario. The awards, which serve as a key component of our commitment to focus positive attention on this country’s current and future stars, invited readers to vote on their favourite Racer of the Year and Up and Coming Racer in a variety of motorsports disciplines, including Road Racing and Motorcycles. Nominees were selected from across Canada.
Inside Motorcycles would like to congratulate Saskatchewan-native Brett McCormick for winning the Inside Track Readers’ Choice Award for Racer of the Year in the Road Racing category, while Quebec-native Stacey Nesbitt won over readers votes in the Up and Coming Racer category.
McCormick won the Pro Superbike Championship aboard the RadX-BMW S1000RR in the 2011 Canadian Superbike Series, while Nesbitt wowed readers by becoming the first female to ever win a national road racing championship, in the Honda CBR125 class.
Award winners were honoured on stage at the Canadian Motorsports Expo on February 11, 2012 at Toronto’s International Centre.
