Calabogie hosts farewell-to-summer double-header finale as Trevor Daley aims to go the competition one better

After a podium and near lap-record pace at last month’s Canadian Tire Motorsport Park round, Trevor’s Suzuki Canada GSX-R heads northeast to bucolic Calabogie Motorsports Park this coming Friday and Saturday, September 17 and 18, for the final two rounds of the 2021 CSBK season.

Squeezing seven rounds into three weekends (or near weekends—please note the upcoming Calabogie round takes place Friday and Saturday) puts the onus on solid machine setup from the get-go. To that end, Trevor spent a day recently at a Pro 6 Cycle Calabogie track day installing a new data system. In conjunction with systems analyst Darren Marshall, the new hardware and software facilitates more precise control of everything from wheelie control to traction control.

Allied with Moto-spec chassis software, which charts the cause-and-effect of individual changes to vehicle dynamics, Trevor is better able to understand the ramifications of even miniscule changes.

A highly coveted award for the 2021 season is the new manufacturer’s championship, in which brands compete with other brands for OEM supremacy. Thanks to Trevor’s top-five placings and a strong season by Alex Dumas, Suzuki looks like a lock to take the prize.

This season, peculiar in the ways that Covid-19 has made everything just a little odder than usual, has been a mixed blessing for Trevor. While his pace and consistency have increased, his finishing positions have been a step below where he would have preferred. Having said that, Trevor is closer to the front than ever—could this weekend be the one in which he ascends to the highest rung on the ladder? In racing, as is juggling knives (where you never count your fingers until the show is over) you just never know.

As with the previous Calabogie round, spectator tickets must be purchased in advance at calabogiemotorsports.com. Don’t delay, act today.

With gratitude for 2021 support to:
