TORONTO, Ont. – The dates for the 2013 MOPAR Canadian National Superbike Championship have been announced by Frontline CSBK’s Kevin Graham, organizer of the National motorcycle road racing tour.

The upcoming schedule is very similar to the 2012 campaign. The series starts at Shannonville Motorsport Park, the storied venue that first hosted a National round in September of 1980.  RACE, the organizing group that first conducted events in eastern Canada in 1981, will again host the S.M.P. MOPAR CSBK event.

Located north of Halifax, Atlantic Motorsport Park has run National events since the 1970’s, predating the existence of the Superbike class! The 2013 “Shubie” event will take place July 5-7 and again be hosted by the Atlantic Racing League, making the most of the famed back straight “roller coaster” section of the venue.

CSBK round three in 2013 will take place a week later (July 12-14) at Autodrome St-Eustache just north of Montreal, the oval-based circuit that was revamped to handle bike Nationals back in 1991. Owned by recent Motorcycle Hall of Fame inductee and former star racer Alan Labrosse, the Autodrome offers a view of almost the entire facility from the front straight grandstand.

The big news last season was the return of CSBK to Le Circuit Mont Tremblant in the Laurentian Mountains north of Montreal. Next year’s confirmed date is still in the works, and a separate announcement will specify the race time for “Le Circuit” in the next few weeks.

Canadian Tire Motorsport Park will once again complete the series on August 9-11, with two points and purse paying rounds, numbered five and six, on Saturday and Sunday. The Champions for each National class will be decided at the former Mosport, this time on its brand new podium, part of recent major developments at the famed track.

Canada’s most successful Pro Superbike Competitor, Jordan Szoke of Brantford, Ont. is expected to return to defend his number one plate and Canada Cup aboard the works supported Parts Canada BMW S1000RR. Currently Szoke holds a number of overall CSBK Series records, including Superbike crowns (eight) and Superbike National race victories (40). Last year, four Pro racers won National CSBK Feature race rounds, including Szoke, Andrew Nelson, Alex Welsh and Kevin Lacombe.
