The home crowd was treated to a historic showing from Sam Guerin on Saturday, as he won the first ever Bagger race in Canada as the Bagger Racing League debuted at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, presented by the Fallen Riders Support Team and Pace Law.
The lone Canadian in the field, Guerin started from pole position and left nothing to the imagination for his BRL counterparts, cruising to a start-to-finish victory aboard his Original Garage Harley-Davidson.
The exhibition race weekend, which is also supported by DP Brakes, Hog Tunes, and Drag Specialties, was the first official running of Baggers north of the border, and thus meant many of the usual BRL frontrunners were adjusting to the fast CTMP circuit for the first time in their careers.
That allowed Guerin to stretch out an early advantage and continue to hammer out fast laps until the end, securing his first ever Bagger victory even despite it not officially counting towards the BRL championship.

“It’s my first Bagger win, so it feels really awesome, especially being on the podium twice in one day,” Guerin said, after finishing third in the feature CSBK Pro Superbike race earlier in the day.
While he only marginally secured pole over Cody Gilmore, the Texan was no match for the home favourite on Saturday, admitting he would have liked to get a better view of Guerin in the early portion.
“I was watching Sam fly around here on a Superbike earlier and thought I need to try and learn a bit from him, but right away he was gone!” Gilmore said. “I love it up here in Canada, but I’m still getting used to the track, so hopefully I can give the fans a bit of a closer race tomorrow.”
Completing the podium was Gilmore’s Suburban Motors Harley-Davidson teammate Michael “Arnie” Wells, who outlasted an early attack from Australian counterpart Jake Masters.
Guerin will try and carry the momentum into Sunday and cap off the perfect weekend in BRL’s Canadian debut, while Gilmore and company will try to close the gap to the home favourite in race two, scheduled for roughly 4:45 pm ET at CTMP.
