The difference between a good life and a bad life, said Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst Carl Jung, is how well you walk through the fire. And Trevor Daley, as anyone who knows him can attest to, is a master fire-walker.
After a washed-out Shubenacadie weekend put him in hospital with a broken leg and hip—and, heartbreakingly, caused him to miss the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park round—Trevor has been on a mission to rehabilitate. Fuelling his journey has been the outpouring of support from friends and fans, and the understanding from team partners who appreciate the severity of Trevor’s injuries and what he’s done to be ready for this coming weekend’s event at Shannonville Motorsport Park, just east of Belleville, ON.
Of course, Trevor, as the grittiest man in motorcycle racing, didn’t need anything other than the fire within to prepare for this coming weekend. Seven weeks of intense training has Trevor’s fitness back on track, but of course rejoining the series regulars who have end-of-season form will test Trevor’s mettle. Trevor enters the weekend with two objectives. The first goal is a return to the podium, and the second is to accrue enough points so that he and fellow Suzuki rider Alex Dumas can clinch, for the second straight year, the manufacturers’ championship for Suzuki.
Joining Trevor at the track this weekend will be local powersport retailer Belleville Sport & Lawn. In the mood for a new Suzuki in your garage? Come check out the offerings on display.
And, please, if you make it to the track this weekend—and the weather’s looking ideal—please say hello to Trevor and crew. They’d love to hear from you. And follow along via Trevor’s Instagram @onespeedinc.
