Can-Am is proud to have received the Bar and Hedy Hodgson Award from the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame. The award was presented on November 4th, 2023 at the Hall of Fame’s annual induction ceremony and highlights Can-Am’s 50th anniversary as well as the brand’s significant contribution to the preservation of Canada’s motorcycle heritage.
The Bar and Hedy Hodgson award was announced in 2007 to encourage the preservation of Canada’s motorcycle heritage by honouring a person, a group or an organization making a significant contribution to the preservation of that heritage. Every year, the board presents this award at the Hall of Fame’s induction banquet to honour the foresight and vision of its founders, Bar and Hedy Hodgson.
Martin Ethier, Director, Global Marketing, Can-Am 3-wheel vehicles and Motorcycles, was in Mississauga to accept this award. “We are very proud of this recognition and we thank the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame for this great honor. Over the past 50 years, Can-Am has reinvented itself in many ways, but its passion and commitment to innovation, technology and quality have never wavered. We are always aiming to deliver the best riding experience to our customers, and we will continue to achieve legendary milestones in the motorcycle industry.”
Can-Am set the motorcycle world on fire in 1973 with the launch of its Canadian designed MX and TNT models, which quickly set a multitude of land speed records and dominated the motocross industry. 50 years later, Can-Am has established itself as a powerhouse brand with its all-terrain, side-by-side and 3-wheel vehicle lineups. Its all-terrain vehicles and side-by-side vehicles have had the fastest growing market share in their category in North America since 2015. The brand has also become a key player in the 3-wheel vehicle industry with 20pp market share gains over the last few years in North America and retail sales that have more than doubled in the past four years. Building on its motorcycle legacy, Can-Am is now revolutionizing the industry once again with two electric motorcycles, which will offer a thrilling riding experience to a whole new generation of riders as soon as 2024.
