This time out, Marc Marquez outperformed even the unluckiest of circumstances as he endured a challenging start due to the tear-off film of his visor getting stuck under his rear tyre – moments after the lights went off. The Spanish rider managed to bounce back from 13th position to take win number three in his 2024 campaign. It was a superb performance by the #93, who consolidates third place in the standings with now a 14-point margin on Bastianini.

It was a challenging race for Alex Marquez, who had to perform a long-lap penalty. The 15-place finish translates in a colourless single point, which still allows him to sit 12th in the standings –with three events left in the season and the top ten only few points away. Next stop, Thailand.

1st – MARC MARQUEZ #93 (3rd in the championship standings with 345 points)

“We had a big race today against Martín and we had fun. This win is surely a confidence boost and we need to follow on this type of results in the last three events. I had to remove one tear-off at the start because I had a huge fly over it that was preventing me from seeing what was in front of me… and then you all saw what happened. From then on, we had the pace from then on to battle for second place: I gave it a go and when I got close to Jorge, I realised that it was possible to win.”

15th – ALEX MARQUEZ #73 (12th in the championship standings with 125 points)

“I got hit by an opponent at turn one and dropped down to last position. I then overtook two riders before performing the long-lap penalty and was back to last once again. We scored one point and we’re eager to get back in action in Thailand and Malaysia… We’re struggling a bit too much in recent races and it’s time to keep pushing in order to finish the year with the best feeling.”
