Without question the centrepiece of the summer’s Canadian Superbike Championship (CSBK.ca) schedule is the return to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. This coming weekend, August 13-15, the famed circuit an hour east of Toronto hosts rounds three, four, and five of the 2021 schedule. For the first time in the history of professional motorcycle racing in Canada, it’s a triple-header race weekend.
The season began at Calabogie Motorsports Park with Trevor collecting a pair of strong points-gathering finishes. It was also an opportunity for the team—led in the pit-box by ex-Suzuki rider Brett McCormick and assisted by Neil Graham—to demonstrate they could work together efficiently.
Talk, as we know, is cheap. Power is what you need. For this weekend’s races tuner Patrice Goyette built Trevor an engine with enough gumption to tame CTMP’s legendary uphill Andretti backstraight, which is the ultimate test of a machine’s mettle. An added twist this year is the return of Dunlop’s flypaper-sticky Q tire for the 10 quickest riders in initial qualifying. Allied with CTMP’s freshly repaved corners, it could make for the first-ever sub-minute-twenty lap in the venue’s long history of hosting motorcycle racing. And who wouldn’t want to be there to witness? Luckily, you have that chance.
Perhaps the news Trevor is most enthused about is that fans will be back at the venue for this weekend’s races. However, due to CTMP stipulations, tickets must be purchased online in advance at canadiantiremotorsportpark.com no later than noon, Thursday August 12th. (Please note tickets won’t be available to walk-ups at the gate.)
For those who make it, Trevor’s Suzuki Canada-backed squad will make it worth your while. Full-size signed posters (courtesy Suzuki and Liqui-Moly) will be available, along with TEAM LTD sunglasses and wristbands for the first 70 fans who make their way to Trevor’s pit. Other goodies include Liqui-Moly hats, and, for purchase, we’ll have a limited number of Team Daley T-shirts available.
We’ve missed you. Welcome back.
