The Rocky Mountain Motards are in their second season at North Star Raceway, the new kart track in Strathmore, Alberta. President Jim states that they are very excited to have Zero Motorcycles as a new sponsor. “The world’s largest seller of full-size electric motorcycles has blessed us with help to reduce our track fees and try to have more people… involved in our exciting sport.”

There are some exciting events planned for the season and club organizers are looking forward to meeting some new riders. Any updates can be found on their webpage at www.rockymountainmotards.com.

Supermoto Ontario has a split personality for the 2016 season. Combination sport bike and supermoto lapping days were trialed in 2015 at Shannonville Motorsport Park, and the club has received countless requests to continue this in the 2016 season from both sport bike and supermoto riders. Essentially it is two separate courses for two different types of bikes on the same lapping day. SMO is also racing supermoto with SOAR at Grand Bend Motorplex. The supermoto course utilizes parts of Grand Bend’s MX track that is in the inner field with the road course running around. Racing will follow the SOAR schedule which will be posted on the Supermoto Ontario website: www.supermotoontario.com.

Supermoto Ontario is holding a race school at Shannonville Motorsport Park with top level pro racers on May 1st in conjunction with the club’s first lapping day. Prices are said to be low with the motivation to increase rider skill levels while promoting the sport of supermoto. This will allow riders to meet the SOAR requirements for competition, while ensuring supermoto-specific training content for all level or riders.

Supermoto Michigan has posted on their Facebook page they have some very exciting news for the 2016 season. The club is offering volume lapping day coupons that will give riders a free lapping day! Please check out their webpage at www.misupermoto.com/.

Supermoto Quebec has announced they are having a race at Mecaglisse Motorsports Park July 16, 17. They also hold lapping days at the same facility throughout the season. More information can be obtained at: www.supermotoquebec.com . Victoria Supermoto is looking into a class for smaller cc bikes. This will encourage younger riders to participate and add a new dynamic to spectating events. Please visit www.victoriasupermoto.com for more information. Supermoto East Coast is working on a “Mystery” press release in the near future with some exciting news. I cannot wait to find out what is going to happen with this excellent club.

AMA Supermoto has two races in their series that are FIM certified— in Loudon, and a race in Quebec, with the points counting towards the FIM North America title. The races will be broadcast on the MAVTV Motorsports Network, and the Quebec race might also be available on other channels, as it’s part of the World Rally X circuit Aug 5-6. The Quebec race will take place on streets, not on track, according to the AMA. Their website also hints that the event actually takes place in Trois Rivieres.
