The NOCO FIM 6DAYS saw thirteen Junior World Trophy teams arrive in Galicia, Spain, to compete. An assembly of the world’s best enduro riders under the age of twenty-three, it is often seen as one of the most highly-competitive categories in the FIM International Six Days of Enduro (ISDE).

Now competing in his fourth NOCO FIM 6DAYS for Canada, twenty-one-year-old Owen McKill (GASGAS) is pushing hard in Spain to mix it with the best in the world.

“This is my fourth time racing for Canada in the 6DAYS,” told McKill after placing his GASGAS into the NOCO Parc Fermé midway through the week.

“I’ve been lucky to race twice in Europe, and last year in Argentina, before being selected to race here in Spain. It’s always an incredible experience to be here.”

While the majority of the European nations competing are well-versed in racing the NOCO FIM 6DAYS format of timed special tests and long, eight-hour days of riding, many other nations need to adapt.

With cross-country racing the primary form of offroad discipline in Canada, it is never easy to jump straight into the deep of enduro with the NOCO FIM 6DAYS.

“I’m getting a lot more comfortable with racing special tests. With three 6DAYS under my belt I’m adapting quickly, but it always takes some time to settle in.

“It’s humbling to race against the best in the world like this. It really shows the level of enduro. I still have more to work on for raw speed, but I’m getting there.”
