@FlatTrackCanada • @WellandCountyMC •(December 4, 2015)- Flat Track Canada is pleased to announce that it is advancing its relationship with the Welland County Motorcycle Club in 2016.
The full 2016 WCMC schedule will now be sanctioned through Flat Track Canada Inc. This means that the two FTC rounds will continue to be part of the national series, however the remaining eight race dates which were in the past sanctioned through CMA will now be considered part of FTC’s provincial championship.
“Structurally this is (an) important long-term strategy in every perspective,” states Aaron Hesmer, FTC president. “Flat track is naturally growing nationwide, and it’s best for the sport to become unified. It will increase the exposure of the sport, as well as other benefits with the alliance. Flat track has so much potential that working together with every group, club, and promoter, we can make really BIG things happen.”
Geoff Tait, president of the Welland County Motorcycle Club, adds, “Because of Flat Track Canada’s commitment to growing the sport through training schools, extensive promotion and industry sponsorship, we decided to again be a part of their national series with two races at our track. We then had to decide whether to run CMA, FTC regionals, or ‘outlaw’ non-sanctioned races for the remaining eight dates on our calendar. FTC offered a package of insurance, technology and promotion that made good business sense for us along with providing unified, single-license purchases for our racers.”
Flat Track Canada is a member of the Motorcyclists Confederation of Canada (MCC). The MCC is an alliance organization that helps unify all member organizations in the Canadian motorcycle industry. The MCC competition counsel is comprised of national organizations such as CSBK, CMRC, WEC, and FTC.
